OUR TEAM IS THE HEARTBEAT OF FURAMOR
We’re looking for passionate folks to help us deliver exceptional pet care across Chicagoland.
We love pet people as much as we love pets! We’re a team of dedicated professionals looking to transform the industry through dedication and commitment to animals in the communities we serve.
There is no contractor relationship, only a team ready to support and grow with you. If you enjoy being active outdoors and are an animal lover, join our team and become part of the family.
What to expect
Our team consists of full-time and part-time dog walkers and pet sitters, along with a lead walker, assistant manager and branch manager at each location.
Our full-time walkers can expect anywhere from 30 to 40 hours/week. Part-time walker hours will range based on your availability, but average anywhere from five to 25 hours/week.
Our management teams handle all scheduling, billing and client support so walkers can focus on what they do best: caring for the pets! Our walkers handle one household of dogs at a time (no pack walks) so we can ensure each pet receives our full, undivided attention.

Qualifications
You don’t need professional animal experience to excel in this role, but a genuine love for pets is a must!
Besides a genuine passion for animals, what matters most to us is consistency and reliability. Our clients — and their pets — rely on us to show up when we say we will. That’s why we look for team members we can fully trust to deliver dependable, compassionate care every time.
Walkers should be confident in working independently, but also capable of working as a team to solve challenges when needed. Having strong problem-solving skills and working well under pressure are essential skills. We are partial to those who are self-driven team players with positive and can-do attitudes.
Lastly, all employees must have a reliable and insured vehicle, a valid driver’s licence and be able to pass a criminal background check.

Benefits and perks
In addition to competitive hourly pay, our employees receive mileage reimbursement, a phone usage stipend and the opportunity to earn tips.
All employees receive PTO from day one and are eligible for group pet insurance. All full-time employees are also eligible for health, dental and vision insurance. When new opportunities come up, we love seeing our walkers grow into them — because we believe in building from within.

Training
Before starting solo visits, each employee will complete orientation with our branch manager, as well as online and in-person training.
Online training consists of completing our PETPro training course, plus learning about pet behavior and body language, how to use the Precise Pet Care app and manage the schedule, and much more.
New employees will also complete at least two days of in-person training, shadowing our lead walker and observing what a day in the life of a dog walker is really like. Once training is complete, it’s official, you’re part of the FurAmor team!
