ABOUT FURAMOR
Local pet care you can trust

OUR PROMISE
What we stand for
We’re your neighbors, your dogs’ walk buddies and your community’s trusted pet experts.
Locally owned, managed and staffed by animal lovers, we treat your furry family like our own — because to us, they are family.
We know how much trust it takes to hand over the leash or keys, and that’s why our team is made up of caring, reliable professionals who truly love what they do. Read our story and get to know the local crews your pets will (or already) love.
FROM THEN TO NOW
The FurAmor story
Our founder, Shawn Frick, has been a lifelong animal lover. His passion for pets of all kinds began with his very first hamster and only grew with the additions of his Aspena Husky/Samoyed mix and two tabby cats.
Working in the commercial real estate industry for a decade, Shawn realized something was missing: time for the things he truly loved. When the right opportunity came along, his vision became clear. After lots of careful planning, Prairie Path Pet Care officially opened for business in Wheaton, IL in 2013, later evolving into what is now FurAmor.
THE PAST
Born from a passion for pets
THE PRESENT
Raising the bar for quality pet care
THE FUTURE
Continuing to pioneer the pet care industry
What started as Shawn’s dream has grown into a legacy, and we’re proud to carry it forward.
Our earliest locations were launched through close personal connections with Shawn. While those individuals may no longer be directly involved in the business, we’ve maintained a family feel and established a culture rooted in care for pets and people.

Today, we operate five locations across Illinois and one in Nashville, and we’re just getting started. Our vision is to continue expanding, while always improving and enhancing the services we offer to better serve pets and their owners.
We’ve always aimed to lead the pet care industry forward, and we believe we’re setting a new standard for what quality, reliable pet services should look like. The future of pet care starts with FurAmor!

OUR LOCATIONS
FurAmor: Growing with your pets
We believe exceptional pet care starts with community. That belief has guided us from our earliest days.
Thanks to the trust of local pet families and the dedication of our team, we’ve grown into five locations across Chicagoland — each built on the same commitment to care and strengthened by acquisitions of other successful, like-minded pet care businesses.
Because our management and staff live in the neighborhoods we serve, community is second nature for us. And now, as we evolve into FurAmor, we’re more excited than ever to keep growing alongside the people and pets who make this all possible.
We can’t wait to serve even more of Illinois’s furry, feathered and finned residents!

OUR LEADERSHIP
Meet the management team
FurAmor isn’t just a job…it’s home.
I’ve been with the company since the very beginning, right from our first client orientation in May 2013. I can truly say my love for the industry has only gotten stronger with each passing year.
Before getting into pet care, I was a longtime veteran of the service industry. After 15 years in that world, I knew it was time for a new career path. I came on board with a dog walking service in Wheaton, IL, and from day one, knew I’d found where I was meant to be!
There’s nothing like the joy of working with animals; time spent with our furry friends will never fail to make your day brighter! Though my responsibilities with the company have grown, my passion is and always will be working directly with clients, their furry family members and our amazing team of professional pet care providers.
I live in South Elgin, IL with my wife and our two corgis, Brody and Maddox. We may adopt another friend for our boys in the near future, because the only thing better than two corgis… is three!

MANAGING DIRECTOR
I never imagined dog walking could be a full-time career, but it felt like fate.
I’m a Nashville native, animal lover (obviously), avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast, who graduated college in 2015 with a degree in Spanish and psychology.
After working in the insurance industry, I realized office life was not for me. All I wanted was to go home and hang out with my dogs. When the branch manager role with what is now FurAmor came my way, I didn’t hesitate for a second. It’s been incredible to watch our company grow and evolve!
I know how much your pets mean to your family, which is why I have so much pride in FurAmor and the way we treat our clients’ pets as our own. And my love for animals runs much deeper than pets — I’m fascinated by wildlife conservation and have been to Africa twice on safari, and have even been gorilla trekking in Rwanda!
I’ve had the most incredible experiences witnessing animals in the wild, but nothing will ever compare to the love and connection I have with my rescue dog and best friend, Bambi.
